The Zultan Dark Matter series was introduced in the autumn of 2013.
The alloy used for this series contains 20% tin and 80% copper, and the blanks are hand-cast. After rolling, the cymbal bell is extruded mechanically and the hole is then drilled. An 18” crash cymbal receives about 4000 strokes with a relatively light hammer, guided by the hands of an experienced cymbal master. This gives the cymbal its characteristic curvature. Subsequently, the surface is milled using a fine tool.
